Glo Emerges fastest growing network

One of the nation's leading telecoms network, Globacom, has once again emerged the fastest growing network in terms of acquisition of internet subscribers in Nigeria's telecommunications industry.

This was according to the report of the third quarter of 2015 just released on the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, website. The report indicated that Globacom gained the highest number of internet users in September 2015 with over a million new internet users on its network.

Finally! Niger Delta Avengers reportedly agree to dialogue with FG

                            
Militant group, Niger Delta Avengers, have reportedly agreed to dialogue with the Federal government to find a solution to the lingering crisis in the Niger Delta region. This development is contained in a statement released today by the spokesman for the dialogue group, Ballantyne Agiri. The statement in part reads:

“The body has collectively and willingly agreed to heed the clarion call of eminent Nigerians and international community to dialogue with the Federal Government. The federal government should from the inception of the dialogue rule out from the agenda any monthly monetary inducement or stipend for the NDA.

The Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, on Monday declared that Lagos has officially joined the League of Oil Producing States in Nigeria following the discovery of crude oil by Yinka Folawiyo Petroleum Company Limited in Badagry, Lagos.

Governor Ambode, who made the declaration when the management of the company led by the Group Managing Director, Tunde Folawiyo, paid him a courtesy visit at the Lagos House, Ikeja, commended the firm for their doggedness to achieve the feat after 25 years of hard work, saying by the provision of Section 162 Sub-Section 2 of the Nigeria Constitution, Lagos has become an oil producing State.

A 30-year-old trader has been arrested by the police in Ogun state for naming his pet dog ‘Buhari.’ The trader, Joe Fortemose Chinakwe, of No 10, Omikunle Street, Sango-Ota, Ogun State, was reportedly arrested last weekend, after one of his neighbours of Northern extraction complained bitterly that he named his dog after his father, Alhaji Buhari. Vanguard learned that the complainant reported the case at Sango Police Station, last Saturday, after which the trader was arrested and detained.

A 36 year old man, Chijioke Ani and his wife have been found dead on their farmland in Mgbaleze Isu community in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State last weekend. While Ani was found dangling from a tree, his wife was found seriously battered in a manner locals suspected to be murder.

No fewer than five people, including two children, have been confirmed dead and 13 others injured after three vehicles crashed on the Third Mainland Bridge, Lagos State.

it was learnt that the accident happened at about 6pm on Sunday around the UNILAG Waterfront end of the bridge. It involved a LAGBUS, a Rover Jeep and a Hilux pickup.

An 18-month-old baby girl has died after being run over by a car driven by her father while he was reversing. The incident occurred in front of their villa in Hor Al Anz area of Dubai on Friday morning. 
According to Khaleej Times, the father identified as Abid, from Kerala, India was taking the vehicle out while his daughter Sama immediately ran to the vehicle. He didn't notice Sama was behind it and ran over the baby unintentionally.
